Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend.

This weekend I completed a gift set I have been meaning to do all month. One of my online pals mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2006. Recently, she is considered to have Stage IV cancer and she can only be treated for pain and will receive injections every two weeks in hopes to keep the cancer cells from spreading.

I made for her this little card and decorated gift box with pink M&M's inside to hopefully keep her spirits up. Although I have never met in person my online pal Kris, or her mother, they have been in my thoughts and prayers. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, drop a little note or card to someone you know (or even don't know) to put a smile on their face. If you would like to do this and need assistance in finding someone to send something to, drop me an email and I'll share with you Kris's mother address.

Also, please click HERE for women to get free mammograms!

Have a wonderful week and God bless you!

Teacher Gift Idea - Coaster Calendar

Hello everyone!

Are your wheels starting to turn about what to get everyone for Christmas, or better yet, what you are going to craft this season for gifts?

I have received several requests for teacher gift ideas. In a recent article called "What Teachers Really Want", from FamilyFun.com, they say:

Some schools issue guidelines on gift giving and getting. Parents are urged to keep it simple, with presents such as handmade art projects or cookies. They are also warned to be sensitive to religious and cultural differences.

I have a great idea that would be within most school guidelines - a desk calendar! This desk calendar is made out of two coasters. I simply attached this chalkboard-like patterned paper from Provo Craft with Mod Podge. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch 3 holes in each coaster and attached the two coasters with some thick ribbon to match the paper.

On the inside, I stamped on black cardstock a sentiment from Stampin' Up! Best Yet hostess set and added a little ribbon and flower. I adhered a little tear off calendar on the other side and that is it!I have another desktop calendar idea you can make for your friends coming up in another posting so stay tuned.

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll be back this weekend! Take care and thanks for stopping by!

Christmas & Sizzix!

Hello friends!

If you need to make mass quantities of Christmas cards, like I do, your Sizzix Big Shot can be a big helper. In the current Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini, they have this big Sizzix Scallop Circle Bigz Die. It was love at first sight for me. You will see me use this quite often I'm sure!

I used the scallop circle die to make a bunch of these Christmas cards. I cut out one scallop circle and cut it in half to get two cards done at a time. Then I used my circle Nestabilities to cut out a circle to stamp my holiday sentiment on and layer on top the scallop.

My Christmas paper stash is out of control. Can you relate? I have like 15 sheets of this beautiful holly paper by Anna Griffin. All I did was layer it on a couple pieces of Stampin' Up! cardstock and stuck my circles underneath it. I covered up the seams with cream colored ric-rac and attached a Making Memories poinsettia. What do you think?

Can you believe Christmas is approximately 2 months away! The time is going to fly. Have fun crafting and stamping over next couple months. I love to bake so on top of crafting, I will be baking tons of cookies too!

Have a wonderful day and God bless you!

So Glad We're Friends

It's the weekend, and don't we all just love the weekend? I sure do! The only problem is I try to do way too much and the time just flies. I wish it went that fast when I am at work. Oh well.

I have a couple friends with fall birthdays so I made some fall-like birthday cards today. I just love the look and texture of this line of paper from Daisy Bucket called Sweet Marabella. It's double sided and almost has the texture of wallpaper, but thinner. It's very cool. I decided to pair it up with Stampin' Up! cardstock in Kraft for my card base, Whisper White, and Garden Green. The antique looking brads are by Making Memories, chipboard flower by Maya Road, and orange flower by Bazzill. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! called Best Yet. It is a hostess stamp set that you get free with $150.00 purchase or more. It is a wonderful set with 6 sentiments including a Christmas one. I've only owned it for a few months now and can't begin to tell you how much I use it!

I have a really simple but elegant Christmas card to show you in my next posting using one of the Sizzix dies in the SU! Holiday Mini. Stay tuned!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Little Boys Just Wanna Have Fun Too!

Hello everyone! Here are the pictures I wanted to share with you from last weekend.

My husband & I took our son to a Fall Festival at Peak n Peak Resort in Clymer, NY. They had a train ride around a parking lot where the little kids could sit in these barrels. My son, Brandon, thought it was the greatest! I snapped picture after picture as he smiled at me and waved. I am such a sap when it comes to this stuff.

The other picture here was at a local farmers market called Mason Farms. I let him pick out his own pumpkin and he chose this adorable one with a long stem that is just right for him to carry. He carried it through the whole store so proud.

I am just loving age 2 going on 3! It's wonderful to look at life through the eyes of a child at this age. Everything is new and exciting! He just wants to be loved and independent.

Have a wonderful day and I'll be back to posting cards and gift ideas soon. Thank you for stopping by and God bless!

Halloween Test Tube Treats

Martha Stewart has got it going on! I adore her line of craft products. Have you seen the new punches out? OMG! That is another story.

My nephews are 3 & 6 and I always send them some goodies for Halloween. This year I collected for them Halloween tattoos, Halloween flashlights with different designs they can attach to the end to light in different shapes (ghost, bat, etc.), a shirt, and these test tube favors I decorated up for them. The test tube favors are from Martha Stewart and the possibilities with these are endless!!!! I decorated these with Halloween papers and cardstock stickers which I wrote their names on. I also added an "E" for Evan and "R" for Ryan to the top of each tube using a alphabet glitter sticker. I filled them with Halloween colored M&M's to match the patterned paper of course! Like Martha, we have to match everything. :)

I have a couple pictures to share with you this week from the weekend. We went to a Fall Festival at Peak & Peak Resort in Clymer, NY. My son had such a good time and I took some fun pictures I want to share with you.

I hope your week is going well! Feel free to drop me an e-mail with a picture of something you created. It may appear on my blog!!!!

Have a wonderful day and God bless!

Holiday Container & Card - No Stamping Required!

Hello friends!

I have started my Christmas marathon! That's right . . . cards, gifts, cookies, etc. I started with these handy Making Memories Storage Embellishment Jars. You get 6 in a pack and they are perfect for adding candy, hot cocoa, etc. If you have a scrapbooking/card-making buddy, fill it up with embellishments like brads, buttons, fibers, etc. and they will really appreciate it!

This gift set was made without any stamping! I simply wrapped patterned paper and ribbons around the jar and made a cute little scallop topper with a chipboard token in the center.

The 3x3 card was made using Swiss Dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug and then adding a die cut tree sticker and metal sentiment. I finished it off with a bow and inked the edges of the card in SU! Garden Green. Quick and easy to get a set of 6 done in no time!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend! I am about to go outside. It's sunny & in the 70's today! Gotta enjoy it while it's here. See you later and thanks for stopping by!

Trick or Treat! Mini Peppermint Patty Spiders

Greetings everyone!

I'm sorry it's been awhile since I've posted! I had a really rough week at work and I wasn't feeling very creative in the evenings. Some weeks are better than others.

Anyways, we don't get many trick or treaters where we live, so I am making up a bunch of these mini Peppermint Patty spiders to give out to the approximately 6 kids we do get and for all the kids at my sitters house.

I saw spiders similar to these on Splitcoaststampers some time ago and jotted down the pattern. If you are the original creator of these, please drop me an e-mail so I can give you the credit. I thought they were adorable and they are so easy to make! Got your punches ready? Let's go!

Supplies:
Stampin' Up! Punches - Scallop Circle, Photo Corners, 3/4" Circle, 1/4" Circle
Adhesive
Mini Peppermint Patties

Instructions:
Punch out two black scallop circles. Punch out four large photo corners in one color and four small photo corners in another color. Layer the smaller on top of the larger. Adhere photo corners to each scallop circle positioning the ones in front a little lower than the ones in back.

Punch out two white 3/4" circles for the eyes. Use the 1/4" circle to cut out holes in the eyes. Punch 1/4" circle out of red cardstock for the nose. Adhere all circles to the scallop circle to create your spiders face.

Use double sided tape to adhere both scallop circles to the mini Peppermint Patty and your done!

Please e-mail me if you have any questions. I will be back this weekend with more! Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful Friday!

Inspiration Challenge for Splitcoaststampers!

It's me again! I just went live with my Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers!

The inspiration for this card came from the cover of the current Coldwater Creek catalog. Did I do ok? I was so nervous I misspelled the title of the posting on Splitcoaststampers. Hopefully they fixed it for me!

I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but the catalog cover has raindrops on the leaves so I used Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects to add little droplets on my leaves. I wrapped the embossed black background with raffia. All supplies are listed on my posting over at Splitcoaststampers.

I can't wait to see what everyone else submits. Be sure to check out the gallery. The keyword is WCMDIC08. If you play along, leave me a comment to let me know!

My Christmas Card Kit is up next. Stay tuned!!!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hello and welcome to a special World Card Making Day at Tiffany's Cardtique!

I am so thankful for all the friends and great customers I have met through card making & Stampin' Up!, that I really want to take this day to say thank you! I blog and sell Stampin' Up! for a hobby and LOVE every minute of it. I am so grateful!

In case you have no clue about how World Card Making Day came into existence, like I did, here is an awesome website about it http://www.worldcardmakingday.com/ and an excerpt from the site:

World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine in an effort to bring card makers together at the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, Paper Crafts recognized the need to expand, and the holiday transformed into World Card Making Day.Now in its second year, World Card Making Day has been expanded to include a dedicated web site; a wider, more inclusive level of sponsorship; and a marketing campaign designed to get the word out at the grassroots level. These steps were taken in hopes of uniting the card-making community (hobbyists, retailers, manufacturers, and more) and celebrating the connection and creativity that is at the heart of card making.

So what does Tiffany's Cardtique have in store for you today? Well, I am going to have some blog candy later, the release of my Christmas Card Kit, and my debut at 3pm on Splitcoaststampers hosting the Inspiration Challenge. Sound good? I sure hope so!

Thank you for stopping by and I'll be back soon with blog candy!!!!

The Season of Friendship Lasts Forever Stampin' Up Holiday Mini Catalog

Happy October!

My card today was inspired by the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog that you can order from today through January 18th! This is one of the best mini catalogs I've seen and I want it all. My favorite set out of the mini is the one I used on this card - Season of Friendship. It has 6 stamps total including a bare tree, leaves, flower, snowflake, bird, and the beautiful saying shown on my card. It's a set to use year-round. How can you pass it up? Since I couldn't, it is my sale of the month set which means if you order this one, you get it -20% off the retail price of $23.95.

I used only 4 colors of Stampin' Up! ink to create this card. I used Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, More Mustard, & Always Artichoke. The card base is in Always Artichoke. I stamped the tree on Whisper White cardstock and then colored each leaf on the stamp a different color using the brush end of the Stampin' Up! marker. I matted the tree on More Mustard and then Ruby Red cardstock.

The ribbon is a velvet, burnt orangish color from American Crafts.

I used a 1 inch and 3/4 inch circle punch to add the little bird. I paper pierced around the Ruby Red circle and added the entire piece to the card on a pop dot.

The sentiment was stamped in Close to Cocoa and then cut into a rectangluar shape. I used my Stampin' Up! Ticket Corner punch on this piece to give it a little interest. I also paper pierced under the saying. This piece was also matted to Ruby Red and More Mustard cardstock.

In case you missed it, I made a little gift set using this stamp set a few weeks ago. Click here to view that posting.

Enjoy looking at the Holiday Mini Catalog and remember you can order directly from me 24/7 on my Stampin' Up! website or drop me an e-mail & I'll be happy to do the work for you! Take care and thank you for stopping by!
