Summertime Birthday

Although I'm not big on birthday parties for myself, it sure is fun to throw one for others especially during summer. You can enjoy the nice weather and do some grilling. My husband's birthday is this weekend and I realized I only had "pretty" looking birthday cards in my stash like the one above. I struggle with making masculine looking cards, but I'm sure I'll be able to throw something together.

Baja Breeze and Poppy Parade . . . who thinks up the names of these colors? It never ceases to amaze me the colors Stampin' Up! comes out with and how well you can mix and match them. Love it!

I used Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper and Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper to create this little note for my mother-in-law who is down & out right now. I included an amazing picture of her and my son together I know she will enjoy.

My wrist is better, not 100%, but much better. Thank you for all your well wishes!

Like a Bird in a Cage

So who is smart enough to sprain their wrist on Memorial Day - the official start of summer? ME! I feel like this bird in a cage. Thankfully it's my left wrist (I am right-handed) and it's only a sprain. I never realized though how much your left hand supports what your right hand is doing. It's getting better, but not fast enough.

It hasn't stopped me from stamping! You can stamp with one hand. Hee hee! My little bird and cage is from the Stampin' Up! set Aviary. This set is so neat because you can mix & match the birds and cages. Very fun! Check it out on page 121 in the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

Here is a sneak peek of a couple of new products that are coming out in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.

The patterned paper is called Paisley Petals. This gorgeous paper contains 12 sheets: two each of six double-sided designs in Bravo Burgundy, Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, River Rock, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Early Expresso and Whisper White. I embossed the paper to give it some texture.

The other product you'll love in the new catalog is the stamp set Four Frames. This set coordinates with your Designer Label Punch.

Spring has finally arrived and I hear the birds chirping in between all the rain we've had.

I love the richness of the Stampin' Up! color Cherry Cobbler. It was a great color to ink my bird stamp from Friends 24-7 stamp set. I kept the card earthy using some neutral colors to really make that Cherry Cobbler pop. I hope you like it!

Easter Treat

I hope you had a wonderful Easter! We went to an Easter egg hunt Saturday morning and yesterday I cooked dinner for the family. The Easter bunny was very good to Brandon. He was so excited to go through his basket and look at all his goodies!

Let your patterned paper do all the work for you! I created this card using the earthy Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper from the current Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog. The only stamping here was the sentiment, butterfly, and circle piece inside the scallop circle.

All set for Easter? It's hard to believe it's next week already. I think we will go see "Hop" before Easter hits. I heard it's a really fun movie. I need to plan out the Easter dinner too. We don't have too big of a group this year, but I still like to make it nice.

Last month I went out of town and visited a scrapbook store who was offering make n' takes while I was there. I haven't been to a card class in years and it was very refreshing to learn new techniques and play with new tools. It's just amazing how the card making/scrapbooking industry just keeps growing. You can never get bored with this hobby!

My husband was out of town last week so I made him a bunch of cards to open each day while he was away. This one was a simple and sweet 3x3 card. The stamp is from the Stampin' Up! set Pun Fun.

Speaking of latte, I could go for one right now. We still have snow on the ground and there is nothing better than curling up on the couch with a nice hot drink.

Remember the Stampin' Up! Sweet Pea Designer Paper collection last year? It was such a generous collection of papers that I still have some laying around. It's always good to use up the old stuff to make room for the new.

In a couple hours I'm off to take my son to the Justin Bieber movie (or pronounced "Beaver" if you're my son). He just loves him and I think I will live through it. It's definitely an outing Just for Him!

I have a soothing card to share with you today. Sometimes people go through rough patches in life and it's nice to send them a handmade card letting them know you care. I wanted the feel of this card to be comforting so I paired a couple neutral colors with Baja Breeze and used the Friends 24-7 stamp set from Stampin Up. The stamps did all the work to pull this creation together. Gotta love Stampin' Up!

It's A Circus Around Here!

It's a circus of circles here at Tiffany's Cardtique today! My most forgotten Stampin' Up! set that I own . . . Circle Circus. It's a really fun and adorable set, but for some reason quite often forgotten. I created my circus card using some of the gorgeous in colors from Stampin Up: Pear Pizzazz, Concord Crush, and Peach Parfait. What a yummy combination of colors I cannot take credit for . . . I used my Color Coach. I just love that handy little tool.

What a nice long holiday weekend. I've been scrapbooking and making cards this weekend. My stash of cards has gotten quite low. I always like to have a bunch of birthday and thank you cards on hand and ready to go.

Tri-Fold Valentine

Have you ever tried making a tri-fold card? It's very easy and makes your card appear really fancy.

Simply take a 9.5 x 5.5 piece of card stock. Score at 2.5 and 6.5 inches. Whola! I wrapped Stampin Up Whisper White Satin ribbon around the entire outside so when you first open the card it's not so boring. Just adding little touches like that can make a big difference.

I am still working on my Valentines. I must admit, I've been addicted to scrapbooking since the New Year. I am bound and determined to get caught up (smile). My goal has been to create a two-page layout each week. So far, so good. I work on it a little every night. I am a very slow scrapbook page creator. It doesn't come as easy as cards do. I'll share some pages with you soon.

Can you believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow? WOW. Time flies. December is especially busy for me because we have two birthdays in the family to celebrate in addition to Christmas. It's all good!

I wanted to share a Stampin Up Friends 24-7 vintage style card with you today. I love this stamp set. I paired it up with the En Francais background stamp. I think they complement each other nicely.

I've seen a lot of ribbon ruffling on cards lately and wanted to give it a try. How easy! Just grab some Stampin' Up! Sticky Strip and cut a piece long enough to cover the area you want your ribbon to cover. Peel one side off and stick to your paper. Peel the exposed side and start adding your ribbon making as large or wide a ruffle as you desire. That's it!

Grateful Greetings

Thanksgiving will be here in two weeks. Can you believe it? I am so grateful for my promotion at work. It really has been life changing.

I try to make Thanksgiving cards and treats for my family every year. I've been paper crafting for so long, I think they expect it now. No pressure, right? I decided to embellish these mini pails I picked up at our local craft store recently. Aren't they cute? Of course they must accompany a matching card and the pail will be filled with something sweet. Hopefully my friends and family will enjoy them at the Thanksgiving table this year. Did I mention I'm cooking too? I bought the turkey this week. Now the planning. Argh! I'd rather be paper crafting.
